Echoplex Digital Pro Personal Digital Assistant

System Requirements

  • You will need a PDA. EDPDA works with almost any kind of Palm Powered handheld as long as it runs Palm OS version 3.1 or later. Also, the PDA must support a serial connection. For example, the Palm Zire only supports USB and therefore will NOT work. The lower-cost handhelds have limited memory, which restricts your capacity to save and restore long sample dumps since these require a lot of memory.

Here is partial list of Palm Powered handheld computers. If yours is not listed, please write to us.

Compatible Handhelds: Palm i705, Palm m515, Palm m505, Palm m500, Palm m130, Palm m125, Palm m105, Palm m100, Palm VII, Palm VIIx, Palm V, Palm Vx, Palm IIIc, Palm IIIxe, Palm IIIx, Palm IIIe, Palm III, Handspring Visor Neo, Handspring Visor Pro, Handspring Visor Prism, Handspring Visor Edge, Handspring Visor Deluxe, Handspring Visor Platinum, Handspring Visor, Handera 330, TRGpro, IBM Workpad C3, IBM Workpad, IBM Workpad c505, IBM Workpad c500, Symbol 1500

  • You will need a MIDI adapter for your handheld. The adapter must support both MIDI In and Out because EDPDA requires bi-directional communication with the Echoplex. Here's a list of some suitable adapters:

    MIDI-IFA www.widget.com.au/MIDI_zg_Synth_Products.html

There are also a number of do-it-yourself kits available on the web.

  • Of course, you'll need an Echoplex Digital Pro. It must be using Loop IV software.

  • And you'll need some MIDI cables to connect it all together
